Gee, ain't life grand.

Picture this: You get a TiBook/550-Combo, and it can't run Quake 3 in OS X for some mundane reason. Sucks, doesn't it?

That's my dilemma. The TiBook is running 10.1.1 and 9.2.2.

When Quake 3 starts up, the error "OpenGL Initialization Error" appears and it quits on the spot.

Even after a few reinstalls, this still appears.

HEEEELP!!!!

LOL

For some reason, a simple restart fixed it.
Thanks anyways!

I'm having a similar problem. I can start Quake (or Wolfenstein) once just fine, but if I quit, then restart, I get a "couldn't initialize OpenGL" error. any ideas?

You shouldn't be playing those games under OS X, anyway.

Check out the benchmarks at www.barefeats.com .

The Ti performs significantly better under OS 9. OS X performance is only faster if you have a machine with dual processors.

I've used BareFears for examples in how Macs perform, but I've spotted a few erros or inconsistancies here and there on that site.

So, as with everything, take it with a grain of salt.
