Cro-Mag Rally (works in OS 9 + X) is just like the Nintendo Mario racing games and can be a lot of fun...

but as far as a good car racing game I can only suggest commercial games such as 4x4 Evolution, Carmageddon II and Driver.

For a good bike game try the shareware game Dirt Bike (works in OS 9 + X).

Get Connectix Virtual Game Station and Gran Turismo 1 and 2.

Those are the only real car racing games out there.

Agreed, Connectix Virtual Game Station is the way to go, if you are running OS 9. This allows you access to the vast wealth of PS1 games out there.

I also forgot to mention that 4x4 Evolution is cross platform so you can network with your PC buddies.

Gran Turismo is one of the best racing games of all time if you're into real racing physics. It is by no means your average Mario Kart.

Have you tried GT3? You're wet yourself.... anyway
CVGS needs ATi hardware, which us G4 tower users don't have, i got nVidia, which I like better anyway. Plus CVGS doesn't work in X. And I hear there are no upgrades, its been abandoned.
I agree there need to be some racing game for X. Something 'real', no cro mag kids game, no driving through the streets, a true Sport Racing game like gran turismo. I guess i'll just have to keep waiting
