From what I can see only the demo is currently available... I looked at a few sites, and did not see anything on this, although I could be wrong...

There is no separate mac version - check this out first, but the idea is to purchase the PC CD and manually install the files into your TA folder. I'll check later for specifics.

No there is not a MAC version of Team Arena, and it looks like there won't be. However you can buy the pc version of arena, and drag the ~missio folder into your quake 3 folder, not your baseq3 folder. Launch your macquake, and team arena will be available under the mod menu. ohh yeah you have to be running the 1.27beta unfortunately for it to work. Hope this helps

I tried what you suggested and so far it hasnt worked. There are a lot more files on the cd and I get the impression I need to copy them all over, but I dont want to copy over anything that could be harmful to my existing setup....

They are suppose to be making some binary patch or something. It somehow will make the PC version a Mac version.

Try the forums at quake3world.com, and use the search. It's what I'd have to do to explain it anyway.

Just buy the Team Arena you see at CompUSA or whatnot (even if it says PC version)

Download this (Quake 3 needed to play Team Arena) http://www.macgamefiles.com/detail.taf?item=10341

This is the demo (Full Q3 not needed- but limited Team Arena gameplay)
ftp://ftp.idsoftware.com/idstuff/teamarena/mac

This is what Graeme Devine has to say about it all.
(He's our mac coder at Id)

"This version is compatible with protocol 48 and Team Arena. I'll provide a second installer for taking a Windows Team Arena CD-ROM and copying the files into your Quake3 directory to enable Team Arena support on the Mac (well, basically, copy the pak0.pk3 file into a directory called missionpack under the application and you're good to go, but the installer will make this even easier).

Like the PC version, you're going to need at least a Rage 128 to play Team Arena. Regular old Q3A users may need to set their virtual memory settings a little bit higher to play Q3A, but a speed increase over 1.17 should be pretty evident right away. The difference here is that both the x86 and PPC QVM compilers have been heavily changed to produce much more optimal assembly code for their particular platforms. Thanks to everyone for the pointers on PPC code, once the light switched on in my head about how to get it done, it proved to be a very elegant platform to code asm for."
