I'm running into the 2 second delay problem with a Saitek x-45 I just bought. (FYI, a few days before this, i bought, and returned a cyborg 3d gold usb, and it didn't have the 2 second input delay problem. I returned it for other reasons)

I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting the x45 at various times, restarting, etc. but nothing seems to make a difference.

Basic System info:

Power Mac 8500
Sonnet Technologies cpu upgrade card, G3 @ 400mhz, 512k l2 cache @ 133mhz
352 megs ram
MacOS 9.1
CarbonLib 1.5
USB drivers version 1.4.6 (i've also tried 1.5.5f1 from the usb ddk)
Gamesprockets 1.7.5
3rd party generic usb card (never had problems with it before)

I'll post an apple system profiler report, if anyone thinks it would be useful....

Thanks everybody.

Well, I called up Saitek today and they said that "Apple changed the inputsprocket interface on us." I don't dought it. Since its gone under countless revisions, I'd be surprised if the interface hasn't changed.

They also said that Apple writes the drivers for them and that they had "petitioned" Apple.

I guess the only thing to do is wait. The question is, how long....

Call up apple and bitch. let them know you want these drivers. Or return it and get something else that is supported.

Hi,
The Saitek X45 should be supported a lot better within the next 12 months, if you use OS X. Since you have a fairly old machine, you should get a X36. It has the same featureset as teh X45, is quite cheaper *and* is compatible to the current InputSprockets very well.

I have one here, it's great.

What number should I call? I don't have an AppleCare Protection plan or anything and I don't want to pay $50 just to call up tech support and bitch.
