Okay, I've got a buddy whose trying to set up a little LAN action at his office. He's running the full Quake3 on his G4 and there are some PC's with the demo version. They can see each other, but when they try to connect they get dropped. Is this because they're running the demo and he has the full version (that's my first guess, just not certain.)? I'm not sure how their network is setup but I do know they all use Timbuktu. I wasn't sure if maybe it could be a network issue or not. Any comments are appreciated...he's really pulling his hair out over this.

When you both start q3a, hit the tilde key (~) and check the versions.
Independent of platform, 1.17 won't work with 1.27, as is my understanding.

I'll be more specific. The version is in the lower right corner of the screen that appears.
Anything with a number less than 1.27 won't work with anything 1.27 or greater. There was a security bug in the <1.27 networking. Nothing too major, I think (hope).

of course it is possible. i play with pc users often and it works perfectly. just make sure you have the same/compatible version update for the game.
