I got Oni as a gift and it was running fine under 1024x768 with 16bit, so I decided to bump it up to 32bit, just to see how it ran and in the middle of playing the game, it crashed and now when ever I load up Oni I get this error:
Unable to initialize hardware accelerated OpenGL on your system with the current settings; Oni will now exit
Now how do I get it back to 16bit, so I can finish the game.
My System:
ibook 500
384ram
OS 9.2.2 and 10.1.2 but I play Oni in 9.2.2
Cheers,
Duo

As your last resort, consider backing up the save file (I'm not familiar with Oni) and reinstalling the game. Place the old save file in the new game's directory.
If you're familiar with editing configuration files and it's the least bit like Quake III, search for "bits" and find the place you put the value of "32" in there. Typing in "16" to replace it should switch you back to 16-bit color.

The reason it didn't run is because your iBook doesn't have enough memory to draw 1024 by 768 at 32-bit color. I would recommend playing it at 640 by 480 to boost your framerate, but the computer is only capable of displaying 32-bit color at 800 by 600 if you insist on running the game in high detail.

I know I shouldn't have tried it, but I was a little too curious, I guess. I tried to edit the the start up file, but it didn't work. So I guess its time to reinstall it. I hate how M$ ruined a good game by not finishing it. I would say its about 70-75% completed.

Ok, I tried to reinstal Oni, and I still get the same error, so I have no idea how to fix this.

Tropico has a 'safe mode' you can boot into for problems like this. You hold down option when double-clicking to launch the app, which defaults all settings to factory.
Oni must have something similar... Can't someone help the guy out?
(I don't have Oni)
Or maybe look for the prefs file in /user/library/oni and delete it?
