Anyone pick up Driver yet? I found it the other day, and bought it. I had some initial trouble: it kept quitting on me, even though I've got plenty of RAM (384 MB, 533 MHz G4), and VM enabled. I also increased the memory allocation well above the preferred amount, but still had some crashing. The game has a setting for minimum FPS; setting this to "Auto" seemed to work, but I haven't been able to test this extensively.

Yeah, I got driver a while ago and I was surprised how much I liked it! Maybe I always wanted to be a getaway driver for the mob, but I enjoyed it.

Hi,

I don't have the game yet, but just wanted to ask if you have played it if you could fill out a review form for it, only have one review for it as of now - I hope the sales of the game didn't flop.

If you have time, the review form is pretty simple to fill out, http://www.macgamersreview.com/

Question: in the Playstation version of Driver there is a steering option called "Auto handbrake" (or something like that). In the Mac demo this option was not present; is it in the full version?
Thanx!

That "Auto Handbrake" option is present in the full version,
although it is much better to control it yourself,
makes the driving experience more real.
Anyone tried some kind of steering wheel and pedals with the game?
Thrustmaster seems to make one that goes for around $99.

I agree--the handbrake is best used when applied manually. I have to say, this game has the best "feel" of any driving-style game I've played since Pod Racer.

This game is hella fun!

I finally got the full version, and it runs AWESOME on my 333mhz/8meg voodoo2 system. Can't really imagine it running any better actually.

Hrm. You know why it runs so good?

THEY WERE A YEAR LATE IN MAKING IT! So, thats way to freaking long to pay for it..... but we should all pay to support an awesome company that delivers things almost an entire f*cking YEAR late.....

-Ca$h

PS: Anyone else feel like discussing driver? post...

PPS: F*CK them in the ear for releasing it over a year late. I'm going to do be mad

grrrrrrrrr

You already waited til the game is outdated, might as well wait a few more years. Freaking MORONS! I hate the people who ported this game. I hope they all choke on something.

They are parcticly the biggest producers of mac games although they put out a game past its prime they still did it and they will cotinue to give us greate games so shut the F*ck up CA$H

Hey newbie, if you didn't have crap for brains you'd know two things:

1. macsoft is just the company that produces it. It was ported by some other company, I forgot the name of it...but... yeah, THEY SUCK

2. Don't ever tell me to shutup Mr. awesome 11 posts....

Moron.

Another unregistered poster steps into the shadows to yell at me. God damn I'm sick of that. From now on, anyone who isn't man enough (or woman enough) to confront me and back their points of view is my bitch.

Hi bitch.

Ca$h/gorefan68/mr-3001-names is the only ashole that can take any forums here and bloat it to 3 times as big (with 2/3 of the message having nothing to do with the original subject) and manage to make it about himself.

The poor moderators must be busy every day fixing these forums because of the Ca$h's dumbass posts.

BTW, if anyone wants to know how to filter anti/Ca$h/groupies' posts (like this one), check out this site: http://www.geocities.com/macproxfilter

gorefan68 seems to be late for his group therapy. Sounds like someone needs some hugs!

(P.S. - Isn't this thread supposed to be about driver? Hummmm....)

You know what makes me sick? It's the kind of people like this "gorefan68." It is the most idiotic thing in the world to actually make physical threats in a forum on the INTERNET! Am I the only one here that sees the absolute asinine comments that this guy makes? This is about games. Driver in particular. I absolutely hate reading ANY thread where this person posts. It totally ruins the forums, and I am pleading with the moderaters to ban his IP or something. This is ridiculous.

Shape up, or get the heck outa here.

And if you want to make your b&^#%, then by all means, do it. Try it.

I would love to see you, face to face, I haven't had a good laugh in a while.

You're probably just a fat little 15 year old kid that spends all day in front of the computer, fuming about his acne, wishing everyone to hell, as well as wishing he could do something meaningful with his time, and playing games constantly. You've got a lot of angst toward something or someone, that derives from something or someone. Possibly you were abused as a child, or are insecure about something. Perhaps your manhood. I think you need help.

Is it REALLY that small, Ca$h? You poor thing. It's okay......

Dave

"Make you my b*&%$" That's laughable.

And that comment about he only has 11 posts, that was really dumb. Are you proud of your 600 posts? Does that make you feel good about yourself? Good for you! You feel good!

At least he has a LIFE. Ever heard of that.

11 posts...... <sigh>

Let's try to keep on topic about Mac games rather than directing insults and discussion towards the people involved in the discussions. This thread is now closed.
