This game is absolutely amazing. I just beat it by killing Heinrich I, and while the ending movie is a little unfutfilling, it's still a great game. Think Day of Defeat meets Undying meets Quake. It's realistic, terrifying, and full of action. The graphics are incredible, as is the storyline, and the missions add great dynamics to the gameplay. Incredible... You'll be hard pressed to get it to run well on anything other than 640 x 480 unless you have the top of the line Tower with a Radeon 8500 or GF3...

First of all, I can run it 1024 x 768 on my Cube. You don't need the top of the line tower.

Second of all, I couldn't agree with you more. It is an excellent game. However, is the full version out yet for the Macintosh?

I'm sure you can run it on your cube at that res, but it still isn't a good idea . (unless you have dual 500's and are SMP 1 with a brand new radeon in there)

And no, the full version isn't out for mac.

Well, I guess that I have quite a bit of RAM. That could help to speed up the game.

I've got no slowdowns at 1024x768 on a G4/533/GF2.

I'm sure you do. You just don't care enough to notice them.

I found the whole zombie thing boring. I prefer plain Nazis cussing in German. That's why I play online on those HUGE servers with 60 players. My name online is Thompson Gunman. Come and get me!!!!!!!

RtCW is definitely a very controlled game where every shot counts. A few shots kills anyone, and surviving in a multiplayer game involves supporting teammates.

You certainly seem to think you're in a better position to judge my experience than I am, don't you?

Yeah.

After just a few games on a few servers, this is my new multiplayer favorite - I'm not ditching Tac Ops just yet, but the sensory overdrive of machine guns, artillery strikes shaking the ground, dirt from sniper shots in my face while trying to get my medic's tools to fallen teammates screaming for help is kind of ... intense.

See http://www.planetwolfenstein.com for details on gameplay etc.

There is a bit of a threshold for the unexperienced online gamer, but don't be discouraged, just see the above site on details about how the different classes (soldier, medic, lieutenant, engineer) are best played and get into it!

I "borrowed" RtCW from one of my friends for my PC. So, I couldn't play MP, just the SP. The end boss is way too freakin' easy. Also, I felt it lacked a lot of the atmosphere the original game had. I was hoping for corridors full of Germans who drop easy. Oh well. It is a great game. I'll buy it if my hardware can handle it.

RtCW is nice. It is not out for the mac yet, a mp demo is however.

The MP Demo plays seemlessly on any mac using a radeon of Geforce 2. This is what you will need for every single game in the future. No problem for me, I go order my new iMac soon :-)

Or if you are a broke college student who happens to have a dual G4 you can survive with a measly Rage 128
