I sent the following problems I was having with my new POG CD to Ambrosia over a week ago (Jan 4th), and have yet to receive a response. Perhaps someone from Ambrosia could reply here?

So after waiting for almost two months after being charged for registering Pillars of Garendall, I finally receive my cd. having waited this long to actually play the game so that I have the bug fixed version (1.0.1) and the Trinity plug-in, however, I am very disappointed.

- The "PoG read me.txt", doesn't work. If opened from Text Edit, it is blank.
- The Trinity plug in, after being put in to the plug-in's folder, is detected on start up, however, even after putting a check mark beside the plug in....
- no Trinity logo is to be seen on the splash screen (as described in the Trinity Manual.PDF)
- It doesn't work (after choosing a character name, there is no box to choose your 'class')
- There are no extra PoG Quicktime movies included on the cd that I can find that were supposed to be the added feature and the reason why I bought the CD (aside from not being able to download it since I only have a 56k modem). in fact I can't find any PoG movies at all.
- PoG is VERY jerky on my Apple LCD monitor. It draws fine on a CRT, however there are numerous graphical glitches on the screen (almost to appear that it's having troubles refreshing itself even though it's on an LCD). This happens throughout gameplay when the main character is moving, and is very bothersome.

I hope you can help me resolve these problems, because otherwise, it seems I'm waited the two months and registered for nothing.

Thanks in advance,

Apple G4 Cube, 450MHz, 640MB RAM, OS X 10.1.2

About the CD & Trinity -- I have/had the same problem. Do a Get Info on the dat001 file (or whatever it is called in the plugin folder) -- I bet it says it's zero bytes. It should be 15-someodd megs. When I noticed that, I downloaded Trinity from Ambrosia and it's been working fine. Download is 15 or so megs -- a pain on 56k, I know.

My guess is the cds may have gotten screwed up in duplication.

As for the QT movies, I honestly didn't realize there were supposed to be any....

On a different note (but still PoG related) does anyone else find it slightly disturbing to play a game where your character bears a strong resemblance to Bronson Pinchot when viewed face-on?

Yeah, the Quicktime movies were te bonus of the CD. Ambrosia can't be making much money off this CD venture..first they were late, now they seem to have a problem with them, now according to their forum, they are going to give out new ones. A big oops on Ambrosia's part.

I'm just mad that they didn't get back to me, despite how they keep saying how great their customer support is. I didn't just send them $30 bucks for nothing.

Anyone else notice graphical issues on their LCD monitors?
