How can I make X think a cd is inserted? I have some games that require a CD inside(starcraft), but don't actually need it. I am on a laptop, so I don't want to carry the games. TIA

Did you try making a disc image and mounting it? That works for Civ3 Myth3 and Tropico.

How about somebody just post it here if they know? Nobody really cares to search for another forum. Are we wasting space or something? Geez.

I did post it!! it's the second post here! Just make a disc image with Disc Copy in OSX. It works for Civ3 Myth3 and tropico, though I've not tried it with Starcraft.

besides, if you've got the cd, what's the big deal about carrying it with you? just put it in your bag with your other stuff

i have a couple machines i play it on, and i have to switch cds everytime I want to play. Sometimes I forget the CD and I get pissed. BTW, I've seen on many windows machiens ppl playing SC without the CD. I also live at a few different places meaning I am in college and my parents live somewhere else. BTW, how do I make the disk image? thanks for info. Also, about the search, I haven't used it since the server upgrade, but everytime I used search before, it NEVER worked, it just times out. I know I should search first because I come from a unix background, where when ppl ask for help, the answer you get is, "rtfm". Read the ****ing manual. FYI, the manual refers to unix MAN pages. THanks for the help.
