I'd very much like to get a Radeon 8500, but I can't because it has no ADC port and I'm using the 17" Studio Display CRT which NOT ONLY has nothing but an ADC port, but also is incompatible with all available ADC-to-DVI or VGA adapters.

So my questions is:

Any chance Apple will offer a Radeon 8500 kit w/ an ADC port anytime soon? I'm planning to buy a G5 at the end of the year, but would like to upgrade the card in my DP450 soon... (to either a Radeon 8500 or a GeForce4).

Any rumors/info would be appreciated!
Be happy.

I'll buy one in a minute if they do. I replaced my GeForce with a Radeon in my PC and love the Radeon. But I love my Apple Cinema display more. So its ADC or no Radeon in my Mac.

Ah, but you see, adapters exist for the flat panels (DVI video card to ADC monitor), so you can buy a normal Radeon 8500... there're threads about it in the peripherals and power mac forums (do a search for "adc adapter" or something).

Apparently, the LCD's send a digital signal whereas my CRT sends an analog signal, meaning that if someone made an adapter compatible with my monitor, it would be compatible with my monitor ONLY (and thus a waste of time and money for the developer).
Be happy.

Don't forget about this:

This eliminate the need of ADC on Radeon card

I'm sure they will make one. If Apple makes the Radeons BTO, they will have to.

I've heard rumors of a certain programmer who has an ATI Radeon 8500 w/ an ADC connector, so I'm guessing Apple will announce them as a BTO option whenever the new PowerMac line is revealed.
