Another question... Went to a Tournament Session (40 odd players) on the weekend and we mucked around with Wolf a little bit but couldnt get a network game up and running with the PCs. In OSX, if I entered an address that was already taken in TCP/IP, OSX wold immediately notify me it was wrong, and in OS 9 had no problems running UT. But we couldnt see any of the PCs running various versions, from demos to the full versions. Is there a known compatibility problem between all the different versions? The macs could all see eachother but they had the same version running. We were trying to do the beachfront that is in the demo.

You can't mix the test, demo, and full versions.

Thats not entirely true that you can't mix the demos. Version 1 of the demo will mix pcs/macs. Version 2 will not. Full game will only run will other full games.
You see all the versions use different networking code (albeit just a little different). But this code is just different enough that the developers have to have a check to "check" different versions.

That makes a bit more sense. After all the talk of OS X being better to network with PCs, I thought it was a bit odd.I was using version 2 of the test, so theres your answer. Thanks!
