I was hoping with the pending release date there would be a demo available for the mac.

There will never be a 9X version from what I remember reading. So buck up and get X cracking.

There won't be a 9 version of the test, of course. The released game will be carbon, so it'll work with both 9 and X. That was the whole point of giving it to Westlake and Aspyr. The cocoa version was supposedly very near completion when the PC version was released.

it's carbon, NOT cocoa.
