Any suggestions for games that work really well on a LAN on both (between) Macs and PCs?

My buddy and I do great with StarCraft and Warcracft over his LAN. Never a problem...well...except for when his PeeCee's crash and we have to wait for them to reboot, or when some damn cheap part breaks and we have to dissasemble his machine to find and then fix the problem. But they are so much fun!
enjoy!

Yeah, Starcraft is a great game for the LAN. You should be able to hook up a Marathon game over LAN too. UT works as well. . .the Master of Orion2 should work. . .

My friends and I play Diablo 2 all the time without any problems. However, sometimes multiplayer gets aggravating with D2 because of the way the skill points are divided up and distributed amongst the players. And, like mentioned several times before, you just can't go wrong with Starcraft and UT.

Definitely any of the Quake games!!!
I don't have alot of knowledge of the RTSs and RPGs, and if some people on your LAN don't Quake is pure easy FPS fun. We used to play Quake at work, literally it is the most fun gaming expereince I ever had (plus no lag like on the net). Quake II is very fun too. I have not tried Quake 3 on a lan yet, my mac doesn't run it that great, but trust me the first 2 are plenty enough. Better pack lunches, you won't be getting off your computers much.... definitely try it.

I agree, Quake3 is excellent. I prefer it with the Urban Terror Mod.
There's also these potentials:
Heroes of Might and Magic 3
Majesty
Myth 2
Risk 2
Rune
Shogo
SiN(favorite)
Star Trek Elite Force
Star Wars Racers

Mac Star Trek Elite Force doesn't seem to work with the new PC/Linux 1.2 servers.
It was a great cross platform FPS LAN game......
