Sweet!!! I can't wait!

Does anyone have a time frame for when it will be done?

It seems he's running into some pretty massive problems with the sound code - the music and sound player currently used by the Classic version of the game is not carbonized, and the company which originally made it has gone out of business...so he's either looking at a complete rewrite of the sound code, or moving it all over to another player entirely. Not a fun prospect either way. SO don't expect it TOO soon. Still, it's nice to know that it's being worked on. Hopefully a carbonized UT will lead to carbonized version of all the other games based on the UT engine.

Carbonizing sound code is the easiest part of the Carbonization process. Over 99% of the APIs remain unchanged. Even if the original authors made a lot of use of undocumented 'shortcuts' I would estimate it not taking more than one month for one guy doing it in his spare time.

For some reason, they chose a specific MOD music player (zzs?), and the company who made it is gone. Unfortunatly, they took the source with them (or something?), therefore, it needs another mod player. Not a huge thing, but enough to slow down/piss off developers.

I'd much rather a cocoa version, but i'm not holding my breath (lol)
