I have just bought a 733 with an NVIDIA' card. Does anybody know what the best video settings are for Unreal Tournament. It looks like hell, My old ATI 8mb card looks better using RAVE.

I have read in MANY places that UT looks like hell with the nVidia GeForce 2mX.

If I were you I would look around:

Yeah, UT does look like crap in RAVE on the NVidia card. However, it looks and runs great under OpenGL. Currently, OpenGL has to be activated by editing the unreal.ini file (think that's the one). When I get home, I'll post what needs to be changed, and the settings that seem to work best.

If you're too impatient, I think you can find the instructions on XLR8YourMac.com.

It depends on what version you have. on the cd, look under "extras" for "OpenGL UT.sea". it needs a file called "OpenGLDrv.ini" containing
"[Default]
MinLogTextureSize=3
MaxLogTextureSize=10
MaxLogUOverV=10
MaxLogVOverU=10
UseZTrick=1
UseMultiTexture=1
UsePalette=0
DoPrecache=1
ShareLists=1
AlwaysMipmap=0"
and a change in the "Unreal Tournament.ini" "GameRenderDevice=" to "GameRenderDevice=OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice " , and it needs the different application included.

if you have v.436 (update!), then just add this to your "Unreal Tournament.ini"
"[OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice]
Translucency=True
VolumetricLighting=True
ShinySurfaces=True
Coronas=True
HighDetailActors=True
MinLogTextureSize=0
MaxLogTextureSize=10
MaxLogUOverV=10
MaxLogVOverU=10
UseMultiTexture=1
Texture32Bit=0
DoPrecache=0
DescFlags=0
Description="

and change the "GameRenderDevice=" line to "GameRenderDevice=OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice "

dont forget to have 180mb of ram allocated to it minimum for good frame rates.
