I have a Rev. D iMac with 256 MB. I have QT 5.0.1 PRO installed. I am using
9.1 (the download, not the one that came with OS X.I understand that there are some subtle differences between the 9.1 that came with OS X and the 9.1 upgrade from 9.0, which is what I have.)
The game installed beautifully. I just bought it yesterday. I did the full install. So after I deleted almost half my stuff, including, sniff, CodeWarrior, I copied all the data folders to the Hard Drive. Time for a new HD. All animations, VR panning, and effects are very smooth. I like it.
I am going to ration myself 30 minutes a day since I want it to last all summer.
Have fun everyone.
Ben

Hi Ben,
I must be missing something here. Am I stupid or did you forget to tell us which game you installed?
Glad to hear your enjoying your mac though. Mines an Indigo Ibook w/ 192mb Ram and I play quake 3 and diablo 2 mostly. Starcraft sometimes too.

Did I blunder? I thought I had clicked the Post Reply button for Myst 3. Must be I goofed and hit Post New Topic. Anyway, it is a beautiful game. I finished Riven in 2 weeks. I intend to savor this one and make it last all summer.

I'm of mixed opinions on Myst III:Exile.
I borrowed the game from my brother and installed the full version on my OS 9 partition.
I downloaded the 1.22 patch and the necessary OS X updates; I found that I had to boot into 9 in order to properly appy the patch and then copied over the carbon app and the new lib file as instructed.
Interestingly enough, I'm able to run the game without even needing the CD inserted into the drive (bonus!) but I am a bit disappointed in the audio . Even on the intro, I get skipping and dropping out of audio; the hardware (DP500, Rage 128 Pro, 768MB RAM, and 7,200 rpm HD with lots of space) should be more than sufficient to keep up yet I can't enjoy the game because dialog floats in and out.
Anyone else with similar problems?
Cheers.
