there's some DOOM III trailer stuff doing the rounds. apparently, it has some commentary from Trent Reznor too. it's a 92Mb download though, so modem users need not apply.

Unfortunately it's encoded at pretty mediocre quality and 5FPS . Still worth the download though.

Yeah, what's the deal w/ 5 fps!? WTF. I was hoping it was the demo that was shown at E3, but it was just a bunch of iD geeks talking. . .oh yeah, and some weird looking guy who has something to do with the sound. Two Inch Tacks (TIT) was his band or something. . .

5 FPS? That's about the framerate some will get on their underpowered machines when the game comes out. My GeForce 3 won't even cut it for high quality in that game. Thank the lord for Apple finally going DDR RAM and GeForce 4 Ti. And the next nVidia card coming. Whew. Hope it runs well in OS X.

Yeah I downloaded that video and was thoroughly unimpressed. First, the quality SUCKS! Second, the majority of the footage is from Doom I and Doom II. The footage that IS shown of the new doom is just the same footage that was shown over a year ago at macworld to demo the "new" geforce 3 -- only then we saw it at more than 5 fps... give me a break, just show us more in game footage and preferably at a decent frame rate.

You can find the same video here at a more standard 29.7FPS. It's ~80MB and encoded w/ WM8 I think.
Also a clip of just the in game footage can be found here weighing in at 4.8MB, at 10FPS encoded w/ some weird flavor of DivX.

****! this is juan..
but the problem is ID is shooting for a GeForce 3 as the MINIMUM requirements for Doom 3 which is just insane. This is NOT for the casual gamer, thank god I'm getting a new powermac with GF 4Ti @ MWNY

The short shall inherit the earth. Just you wait. You won't see us coming. We'll pop out from under tables, beds, and closets in hordes. So you're tall, huh? You won't be so tall when I chew off your ankles. Mofo

I loathe you.
I need a GeForce 4Ti. The GeForce 2 MX just doesn't cut it. 32 Mb or RAM! Bah... thats just not enough. Sides GeForce 4 Ti would scream in 3D apps... ie. Cinema 4D XL, Maya...
