I am totally running it on my Rev. A, and software mode works just fine. The pre-rendered stuff IS a bit choppy in the animated transitions, and sometimes the quicktime videos chunk out, but the gameplay itself is fine. I also have the Gamewizzard Voodoo II, and the gameplay looks RAD, but then the movies sometimes don't wok at all. I guess that all voodoo cards are having this problem.
Anyway, it will run well enough on your system.

You just can build in the voodoo if you have the mezanine-slot. and that's only in Rev. A and B, so the first iMacs.
I've heard that's possible to upgrade newer iMacs too, but you have the send in the hohle Mac so they can add a slot and then the card.
i guess it's not worth the costs for you.

In order to use an iMac GameWizard you need a Rev A or B. The company that used to make them, Microconversions, used to be able to solder mezz connectors on Rev. C and D iMacs. However they've gone out of business, and no one knows where to find the connectors. You can still rig it though. You'd need to get a rev A or B motherboard and then use your 333 cpu daughtercard on that board. A rev. B would be better since it has a Rage Pro (vs. the POS Rage IIc on the rev A).

You should be able to play Myst III on your machine......

No, you can not replace the Video card in any of the iMac's. They are soldered onto the motherboard.

The Rev. A and B had a perch slot on the bottom side of the motherboard that a card could plug into. As far as I know only two cards were made. The Game Wizard and Formac's TV/SCSI card.

Does or can Myst III use the Voodoo2??

as far as i know you can't. in the myst 3 faq on the website they say no voodoo is supported. and in the rivenguild forum lots of threads are about that problem and it seems there's nothing that makes a voodoo runing properly with myst.
i can't understand why they don't support 3dfx cards. ok, 3dfx is gone but there're still many users with such a card.

I saw the specs for Exile yesterday and immediately went out and bought it for my Rev.B iMac. I was very excited until I got into the game...........slow, sound outta sync, choppy and giving me a headache! This seems to be because I only have 64mb ram I think i'll just keep it until I get a new iBook soon. Anyone have a 128mb module for first generation iMacs they could donate to me? I would be grateful.
