so there i was, playing voyager elite force on my g4, enjoying the game, when it inexplicably crashes and returns to the desktop directly after the movie at the end of the episode set on the winged aliens' ship - the one with the fireflies, and the cryogenic pods, etc. this has happened very time i have rebooted. any ideas? has anyone else experienced this? any suggestions appreciated!

I also had a problem with Elite Force crashing constantly on me on my G4. It turned out that turning off an option called 'Texture Compression' or something similar solved all my woes. Give it a shot, anyways.

I recently bought and played Elite Force all the way through. The only issues I had were when I was playing on an external monitor attached to my TiBook. That was quickly resolved. It never crashed on me. I was using 9.1.

I've only had elite force crash on me once. Overall, it's been a very well behaved game. My only complaint is that it's too short.

By the way, I tried running it in classic yesterday and to my surprise, it was played quite. I'm running OSX on a Pismo 500 with 256meg RAM, OSX 10.0.0.3

Running the game in Classic from OS X actually solved the problem I was having before I knew how to solve it in OS 9. OS X must have a different implementation of OpenGL, one that can handle the texture compression even when it's still enabled in the game. The game was, however, much slower in Classic than it was in OS 9.
