Just got a Radeon and put it in the 66 MHz PCI slot of my G3 450.
I moved the Rage 128 to the 33 MHz slot.

With my monitor set to 1280 x 1024 and UT set to 1024 x 768 I get a 1024 x 768 game box in a black 1280 x 1024 screen... what gives?

When I try switching resolutions in the game it will be unable to sync and it will switch the monitor to the default of 640 x 480.

The only way I've been able to play in 1024 x 768 is to set the monitor to that res before starting the game and making sure that the .ini file has that set as the resolution (I can't change from within the game no matter what).

Any ideas? I called the tech support people for UT and they were stumped... They recomended re-installing the game, which I did. I also reinstalled the OS and the Radeon drivers. No go. Everything is fine on the secondary monitor, so I really think it's a Radeon issue, especialy since a Radeon I was using in my machine the week before worked just fine with UT.

Argh!

HELP!!!

Do you have the Radeon Driver 1.1.1 Update from ATI?

What type of monitor do you have? Apple? Samsung?

I haven't had any problems with my PCI Radeon in my G3/400, but I don't have two video cards installed.

Driver 1.1.1
ViewSonic PF790

This is the second Radeon card I've had in this slot powering this monitor... the first one played UT just fine but was missing a piece so I sent it back. No, really... there was a transistor or a diode or something floating around in the mylar baggie that the card came in.

My Radeon works fine with UT. Your problem seems unique.
