Well, I must say that I've been looking forward to this game ever since I heard about it, and positively lusting after it--the game, mind you, not Julie per se--since I downloaded the MPG trailer. Tomb Raider meets Quake III with a dash of Mortal Kombat thrown in? I'm game.

However, I'm quite disappointed in the usual disparity between PC and Mac speeds of development. Though Mr. Dochtermann claims that "The Mac version has been developed in parallel with the PC version and is no more than a week behind the PC version at any one time," the fact is that the Mac version is at the very least 9 weeks behind: the PC version went gold on 2 August, and the demo made available 22 August.

Though Mr. Dochtermann's professed dedication to the Mac community is pleasing... well, actions speak louder than words. Understand that I do not advocate the rush to market of a substandard work, but I think that product availability should be brought into greater parity with production claims.

Hopefully the delay in the release of the Mac version will allow them to iron out the bugs in the game. The PC version was quite buggy I hear.

I can't wait to get my hands on FAKK2. I've played through the PC demo and it's very cool. It was a LOT better than I'd anticipated it being. Up until this point I hadn't had a whole lot of faith in third-person combat oriented games, but Ritual has outdone themselves with game play on this one. Add that to the unique level design and visuals and you've got one great game.

The only thing that may turn some people off is the "R" rated nature of this game. It's definately Heavy Metal .

It's been tough to keep myself from buying the PC version.
bah!
