well, i've installed a fresh copy of unreal tournament on my HD so that i could try out some of the new mods, and now all the updaters i've d/l seem to be corrupt. i keep getting the same "bot pack.u" is corrupt msg when i try to upgrade unreal tournament to version 413 or 425. this is really frustrating; as i spent countless hours to get this thing done. i'm ready to raise my hands and give up. PLEASE HELP.

I think I might know what your problem is and how to fix it. Whats happening is that when you decompress the updates and UMODs Stuffit converts the file to the macintosh format. Obviously for the UMOD installer to recognize the updates they cannot be in the macintosh format.

To fix this, in Stuffit's preferences section, click on the Cross Platform tab. Check "Never". Badda Bing Badda Boom. Next time you decompress the file, it won't be automatically converted.

This should work. That is of course if I understood yout problem right.

I've had that happen too, so here's another possible solution to that same problem.

Step one is to follow The Dude's directions for resetting Stuffits preferences.

If that doesn't work then make sure the UT CD, not an .smi or disk image, is mounted. To cover all bases, place the update installer in the UT folder and run it from there.

Everytime I've reinstalled UT and had an error while updating, that was it—UT had to be installed all over and the update performed properly.
