I was planning to buy Quake 3 Arena when I next had a chance to visit a computer store. However, in the games.macnn.com section today I saw a note about id's work on Q3A version 1.25 - I would assume this version will be available as a downloadable upgrade, but would it be worthwhile to wait for that version to reach store shelves and get it built into the CD?

Normally I would assume it doesn't matter with games (an upgrade would fix things just fine), but the complexity of games nowadays and the fact that this forum exists prompted me to ask, just to be safe. What do you all think?

Buy it now. Upgrade later. Games on the shelf don't get updated very quickly and chances are you would buy an old one anyway. The upgrades work fine.
