So, Blizzard announced their new game today which appears have been in the development process for a while (screenies, movies, previews, etc). The World of Warcraft is going to be a MMORPG.
Who else is just a little bit let down about this? I wanted Starcraft 2, not another installment in the Warcraft franchise. Heck, I probably won't even get this game. That's how little it excites me.
Anyway, here's the link to check it out.

True, but so far 100% of Blizzards games have come to the Mac, and since Blizzard has purchased the house that did the porting of its games (notice the simultanious release of LOD), one would suspect and hope it will be ported soon after, if not before release.
That said, they could just continue the trend of MMORPG's that only exist on the PC and when asked about a Mac port only bring laughs from the Fanboys, and fall apon the deaf ears of the companies that created them. Blizzard has a good track record on the mac, and it would be great if they were the first company to bring a MMORPG to the Mac, so how about it Blizzard?

The couple of day lead-in was a great idea and had everyone guessing (until someone let the cat out of the bad by accident), and the graphics look spectacular (so it's going to require a good internet connection I'm sure). However, I feel the same as Archangel...I didn't really want another Warcraft. I wasn't excited about Warcraft Adventures (and wasn't sad to see it go), and I'm not too excited about this game either.
Oh well...Starcraft will come considering Blizzards lack of imagination to explore new grounds but rather go for sequels (but hey, I love them anyway).

It says PCs only but consider, in the grand sceme of things, every Mac and Windoze computer is considered a PC, and a Playstation or GameCube is not.
I too was look for something outside the Warcraft series, but heck, fantasy enviroments are generally better for MMORPG, I'll buy it.

I thought WWII Online was a MMORPG. That one is coming to the Mac, so Blizzard wouldn't be the first to bring MMORPG to the Mac.
Anyway, I'm sure WoW will be ported. Unless Blizzard for some unknown reason starts using MS only technologies, then there is no reason why it wouldn't be ported. However, if it wasn't ported, I think that would set an awful precedent.

It really doesn't matter anyway -- Blizzard was definitely really late to get into the game. Shadowbane is not only already the most anticipated MMORPG of all time, but it's already definite it's coming for Mac.

Sh*t yeah Blizzard is late. Evercrack & UO has already milked that makret dry. Besides everyone is waiting for the StarWars MMORPG. Who can compete with that universe? (I'm gonna play it just to become the first Jawa Jedi knight!!)

Heh, ya won't catch me going anywhere NEAR the Star Wars MMORPG. The company that makes it, Verant, has serious deficiencies in the customer service department. Dealing with customer service for their hit Everquest is by most accounts an exercise in futility and masochism, with people being banned even for reporting their account was hacked.
Did I mention how happy I am there will never be a port of EQ for the Mac?
On the other hand, Blizzard, while having had occasional problems with hacking and other bugs is always willing to not only fix them, but to remedy them and, in provable cases, restore characters to a previous backup. If they can keep up this level of CS with Worlds of Warcraft, I'm going to be behind them all the way.
Besides, WoW will have something that SWG won't -- Sexy Orc Women!

WW2OL is not an RPG, and im not even sure you can call it Online, since the servers don't work most of the time and you get like 2 fps. I will have to investigate the mac port though to see how bad it is.
Oh, and for some fun check this out: http://www.lumthemad.net/ww2log.html
Lum is trying to play the game, and its not going to well. If/when WoW does get ported to the mac (or hell even released) I hope to god it will be better than WW2OL.
