I have a G4 Single Processor 500 MHZ and I'm running OS X. I have the stock Rage Pro 128 with 16 MB VRAM. Memory is not an issue, I currently have 384 MB, but I could easily max it out at current prices. I got a pretty fast hard drive too. I don't want to spend a lot of money on upgrades, but just wanted to know if you guys think new games coming out will still feel speedy on this computer. Especially for example Civilization 3, Age of Empires 2, and possibly the carbon port of UT. First how long do you think this machine will be good for gaming? And second, do you think getting the old radeon(So it's cheap) when the new one comes out is a good idea?

I think that you should check out the price of radeon after the new radeons come out. The price may in fact be a good one, and it that case go for it, as long as you don't need ADC (not sure if you computer came with that, anyway). However, the price might not fall enough to justify buying it. I bet that eBay would probably have some people selling it after the new radeons come out. I don't think, from what I've seen, that civ 3 or aoe2 are incredibly graphics intensive, but I doubt that the radeon would hurt UT, though, even though I understand that UT relies heavily on RAM and your processor. Good luck and happy gaming!
