'Sierra' and 'Valve' are f**ks for not porting it to the MAC!!!!! CounterStrike has to be the best Game of the Year in my opinion. I play it non-stop on my friend's (P)iece of (C)rap and now i'm thinking I'm the one with the piece of crap. The Mac platform can only grow from here on out and to not decide to port it is stupid decision!!! Wit hthe Voodoo 4 and 5's coming out and Radeon, this non support is absurd!!! I think this can have dramatic affect on Apple's bottem line. We need the best games on the Mac!!!!! 'Nuff Said!!!

Does anyone know where i could find more info?
Do u think we could do somthing... do a petition or something like that? It's really a good game and the mac can't become more important if there is no good games....

Why Half-Life was Cancelled
It's been a year since this game was shelved. The petitions and e-mail campaigns and hand-wringing and soul-searching have all been done. If Sierra hasn't changed its mind already, it ain't gonna happen.

Also, every major Mac game publisher, including MacSoft, Aspyr and GraphSim, has approached Sierra in hopes of publishing Mac Half-Life themselves. Sierra declined no matter what dollar figure was offered.

Half-life was canceled because the schmuck who was doing the porting didn't know what he was doing. He was at the beta stage of the game (I think a demo was only a few months away) and then Valve canceled it because it didn't meet their quality expectations.
Yeah, all of the petitioning has been done, so you might as well give up hope w/ Halflife. However, I do think there is hope alive for Half-life2. If that comes out for the Mac I will be sure to buy it.
BTW, if you want to help support the Mac gaming community check out: http://www.demandmac.com/

I don't know where you heard that little rumour, but rest assured it is completely untrue. Andrew Meggs, the man in charge of the port, was experienced when he did it, and is even more experienced now. I can't think of anyone better to have working on porting games. Why, say you decide to buy Heavy Metal: FAKK 2...make sure you thank Mr. Meggs on your way out of the Computer City door! No, that rumour is pretty stupid. I think it's a pretty safe bet it was done purely for economic reasons. Any way you cut it - it's gone, it's over, it's done with. Move on with life....go make sure we get Half-Life 2!
