I'm guessing you want a form with a textbox, so people can type their email address in, and then save their addresses into some sort of file/database.

It's pretty straightforward, if you got a unix server then a simple perl script could write them into a text file, or if you are NT, i got a nice solution that writes them into a small Access database.

Let me know how you get on.

thanks for responding, a unix solution is exactly what i was looking for. rummaging around last night i found something called mojo mail that looks "easy" to set up and has a web based gui interface, although right now i'm having problems troubleshooting a directory setting, but i guess that's part of the learning curve.

dude- i'll help you out setting something up on your site, but i need to know exactly what you need to do, collect emails or send newsletters.

There's loads of (free) CGI scripts that can collect peoples info; sending newsletters is a bit more complex. I can help out with the collecting bit

hey, you guys from across the pond are fantastic! thanks for offering up the help. since i am thickheaded, i spent all day trying to figure out how to get mojo mail and suscribe me lite to work - and it paid off! it turned out that i was not entering the full pathways. anyway, i'm gonna stick with mojo mail, looks powerful enough for my needs and has a friendly gnu interface.

cheers,
antonio
