Maybe you could make one big frontpicture that has been divided in three ckickable slices, each slice could be a rollover. Nice if you don't want ( or don't know how ) to use Flash... I'm working on something similar for my site, I'm only concerned that it would load to slow.

PS Primecut.net is Amazing , I wish I could work with Flash

here's my web site... iRebound
if you guys could give me some suggestions too. It's my portfolio site and some info about it. It should be done by summer.

I'm stuck on my desktop on the web site where you can drag the window...does anybody know how to make a floating box go to the most top layer when you click on a certain image? or how to make the floating box resize to a certain size when you click on an image. thanx

I finally goti around to launching my Flash site a few days ago...
Won't run very well on any G3, though, sad to say
I don't whether you all know about all the problems with the Mac Flash plugin, but they're pretty grim -- I read one place that, on average, a Mac has to perform three times the work of a PC of the same power to display the same site. All because Macromedia decided to base the Flash plugin on Windoze API's.

Also, framerates are screwed up for Macs -- I believe these are the correct numbers:
• If you export a movie at less than 15 FPS, it plays at the correct speed.
• If you export a movie at 15-20 FPS, it plays at 15.6 FPS.
• If you export a movie at 21-30 FPS, it plays at 20 FPS.
• If you export a movie at 31-40 FPS, it playes at 30 FPS.
• And above 40 FPS is normal.

That's off the top of my head, don't quote me.

Anyway, those discrepencies really make synching music a pain -- which is why I have to export Windows and Mac versions of my site.

So, if you have a 400MHz+ PC or a G4, check it out (and yes, I currently have four clients, and relatively major ones at that, so that pathetic horrible portfolio of NOTHING will expand ): http://www.webfeatsdesign.com/

(it still hasn't appeared on FlashKit or any search engines, so this is its first real public appearance. BE NICE!!!)
Be happy.

mac freak,

Yes! Someone else feels my pain. The Mac Flash plugin seriously bites in my opinion.. Things are always twice as fast on a similar PC and they shouldn't be. But, the most annoying thing of all, there's something really screwy on my setup which makes things play even *slower* than normal. Example: a Flash intro I did played very smoothly on my teacher's Powerbook G4. It plays maybe half as fast on my machine, my machine being a dual 533 with a 32Mb nVidia card.. Heck, the iBook 500 I demoed seemed to play it as fast as this machine too.. This only happens when viewing in a browser though. In Flashplayer, it runs smooth. I've tried everything I could think of to speed things up but nothing seems to work. Suggestions are welcome on this..

Anyway, not a bad site.. I'd be careful of asking people if they want to continue though, you might just want to pull them right in. They clicked the intro after all. Also, the music ended way before the ending of the intro on my Mac..this might be due to whatever weirdo bug I have going on here, but you might want to test on some more machines..

Back on topic.. Albert:

When I'm stuck, I always flee to my favorite design sites for inspiration. Try http://www.k10k.net/ , http://www.onyro.com/ , http://www.surfstation.lu , http://www.designiskinky.net/ ... to name just a few. They always help me.

Yes, the music is SUPPOSED to be synched...
Did you play the Windows version on your Mac? That would explain it... the windows version is exported at 20 FPS, so it'd play at 15.6 on your Mac. whereas the correct synching happens at 20 FPS, which is what the Mac version will play (though it's exported at 21 FPS).
It synchs fine for me, and I'm on a dual 450, so your 533 should be great...

The most important element of the synching is that the saxophones start when "information" appears. I've tested it on my G4/450, a G4/350, and numerous PC's -- all of which do it fine. You might want to try resinstalling your plugin or deleting some prefs... 'cause you seem to be having major problems.
Be happy.

Nuh-uh, I clicked the high-bandwidth Mac version. And I've tried reinstalling everything, even downloaded the de-installers and then reinstalled and wait did I ever trash any prefs.. Aren't any real Flash plugin prefs.. junked a few shockwave just now and no difference..

Maybe it's a third-party extension. Somehow interfering with playback.. That might explain it.. I tried downloading the swf and playing it locally and it was going MUCH faster..wouldn't load the actual intro part though. Well, I'm on break now so I guess I'll go tear apart my system and report back if anything changes.. Conflict Catcher, here I come.

In case you're wondering (so you can download), the two files are: http://www.webfeatsdesign.com/hifeats.swf (main site) http://www.webfeatsdesign.com/hipfdintro.swf (intro)

Have you tried both IE5 and Netscape Communicator? I find that playback is always slightly better in Netscape...
Anyway, good luck figuring out what's going wrong!
Be happy.

I love Flash. I only wish I could use it as well as some of the others out there.

Is there any hand-holding methods to learn how to produce some nifty Flash intros and such?

I clicked on al l the above links and I am mightly impressed
