Hi there,
I just started a website on actress Robin Tunney at http://www.robinutnney.com. The site looks fine in IE but in Netscape it looks awful, the banner appears not to fit and stretches the design so it doesn't look right. I've tried fixing it but nothing seems to work, so if anyone can help with what I could do to fix it I'd be really grateful.
Thank you
Pauline

It looks like a similar problem I kept having with Netscape - ROWSPANS and COLSPANS. It doesn't render tables as you would expect even if you have widths and heights assigned to each individual cell.
It also looks like you had imageready make the code for you, which doesn't help the NS problem because IR automatically inserts spacers/rowspans/colspans etc.
Try breaking the layout into a couple of seperate tables - for example, one table at the top which renders the banner all the way down to the start of the copy (and includes Robin's head and shoulders), then another table underneath it which has the rollovers in the left column and the text in the right column. Make sure in these tables that all the cells in the same column have EXACTLY the same width and don't span over rows. What program are you using for authoring this?
Hope this helps Sparkler

Thank you for the help Simon Mundy I think I understand what the problem is, now I just need to work out how to fix it! I used Fireworks to slice the image and do the html for me. I'm better at the designing side of things rather than the coding at the moment which is why I thought I'd use Fireworks.

No mind reading required. Just plain ol' reading.

Hi Sparkler
The problem is the iFrame for your banner ad.
Remove all spaces from between the tags so it all flows:
<BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1"face="Geneva, Verdana, Arial">code:</font><HR><pre><font size=1 face=courier><td colspan=<font color = red>"<font color = blue>3</font>"</font> valign=<font color = red>"top"</font>><center><!-- FASTCLICK.COM v1.<font color = blue>2</font> <font color = green>for</font> robintunney.com --><iframe</font>
(middle part taken out) <BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1"face="Geneva, Verdana, Arial">code:</font><HR><pre><font size=1 face=courier>alt=<font color = red>"Click"</font>></A></iframe></CENTER></TD></font>
You had left some spaces in there, and Netscape will render them, because they're there
