I want to learn how to make Flash persentations in my web sites. First what is the best program to buy and where can I get ideas and help in making them.

First off do you want to animate your vectors? Then the obvious thing to buy is Macromedia Flash. If you get that, just go to through the tutorials. You'll figure everything out from there. To actually design stuff get Adobe Illustrator. I myself am two lazy to get it and just design stuff from within Flash itself. My sig is a example of something you can do from Flash directly. ..and non-animated as well. (even though i dig it, it's too distracting)

back to flash:

yeah, grab a copy of flash 5 and play around a bit with it first (a demo is available). go thru the tutorials like synotic said, and if you still need help, try the Flash 5: Creative Web Animation book. I learned from the Flash 3 book in this series, and it treated me fairly well (4 out of 5 stars i'd say).

I changed it to reflect the requirements. I don't really like it now though. What do you guys think?
