I'll be doing freelance work while in grad school and need a basic job tracking / billing utility to help me organize and bill jobs.

I don't need anything as intricate as MYOB, but I don't want to keep track in an excel spreadsheet either.

I'd definately prefer that the app is OS X native.

Ideas?

I created a simple Filemaker pro database to do what I was after...
it gave me the flexibility to design it the way I wanted. Much better solution than MYOB or Quickbooks, for me anyway.
and it runs in OSX..
so if you have FMP, might want to consider doing that.

I do mine in FileMaker Pro, but if you're looking for a standalone app, look at <a href="http://www.casadyg.com/products/timeslice/mac/" target="_blank">Time Slice</a> by Casady & Greene. Their stuff is usually pretty good, and for a reasonable price.
