Any tips for a begginer? I bought a book and before i start going through it i was wondering if i should be aware of anything beforehand that may be helpful.

grab free scripts that do things you might want to do. study them, see how they work. see if you can adapt them. set yourself little targets. stuff like that.

when it comes to server side, always upload in ascii, alter the permissions accordingly (chmod), etc

check this place too: <a href="http://www.cgi-resources.com/" target="_blank">The CGI Resource Index</a>

Before doing any perl I would recommand you check out shell resources and some C because Perl is so much like the C programming manguage and is so much like shell scripting that looking at both would also be a great Idea.

I learned Perl in a weekend with the O'Reilly "Learning Perl" book, and would recommend it. My boss loaned it to me, and then I later bought the "Perl Library" from O'Reilly that included it and other Perl books on CD, a great reference.

php. good call. APU, dude, i have mucho php files and knowledge for you to browse too

if you want to learn, then you should take advantage of your new OS and install it. go <a href="http://www.entropy.ch/software/macosx/php/" target="_blank">here</a> for a real easy way to do things. while you're there, you may as well <a href="http://www.entropy.ch/software/macosx/mysql/" target="_blank">install mysql</a> too. you can do wonderous things with these technologies, my friend

I have got to the stage where after finding scripts I know enough to alter their visual sty;e and at the end of the day that's all I need
