Hello fellow geeks,

I've been trying to set up ht://dig on my OSX server and I'm having no end of trouble configuring and compiling it.

For those who don't know, ht://dig is a local web search engine free for download from htdig.org.

When I downloaded the stable 3.1.5 version I couldn't even get the configure script to run. I went and get the newest beta and I'm still having trouble.

checking host system type... configure: error: can not guess host type; you must specify one

that's the last error I get before configure breaks. however I can not find any flags for specifying host type, nor can I find a config file to do it in. The only documentation on the htdig site is for the stable release...

any clues? i'd really appreciate it.
