Hey all, well after a few too many months of not paying my isp's bill they have finally cut me off. Damn. I need to move a portion of my site to a free hosting service. Do any of you know the best services available (based on price/advertising/bandwidth?) Thanks in advance

Sorry to suggest the obvious, but... Apple's iTools? You get 20 megs, ultrafast akamai servers (I rarely drop below my cap - 150k/sec), unlimited bandwidth, and very nice uptime.

The main problem is that you don't get any CGI access or anything.[/LIST]
EDIT: oh yeah I forgot... there are absolutely no banners or anything!

www.easyspace.com is supercheap, but you get bannerads without paying a bit more...

Thanks both of you. I am using iTools right now, but the reason I'm looking for something else is because of the no cgi-thing. I am going to try the other one slipjack suggested.

I was looking at netfirms (netfirms.com I think), they offer free cgi (but they do have banner ads)...I've never tried, and if I was at home I would do it right now...but can I just use them for cgi execution, but have the pages being served from iTools? (I'll use exec cgi, instead of include virtual wherever possible)? Like I said, I can't muck around from where I am right now, but if anyone knows off the top of their heads, please pass it along.

Thanks again.......anothermacguy

F2S.com if you want CGI access; Mac.com otherwise.

F2S.com is great. However, Mac.com is one thing I don't agree with. It's got a lot of incompatabilities with the PC (I don't know how or why, but it happens), and their editor sucks.

Unfortunately F2S is shutting off its free service come February.
Let's show 'em why Macworld 2003 won't be like Macworld 2002.

Spaceports. Has PHP and free service from Tera-Byte (I believe) which I've dealt with very happily.
