I am evaluating development environments in our Windows 2000 shop (sigh--I'm a Mac user at home). WebObjects for Windows 2K looks totally hot. Imagine my disappointment when I called Apple and found out that they do not have a process for sending evaluation copies to businesses (in my case, a State Government Agency).

In short, I'm out of luck. Our agency will *not* pay to evaluate software, and considering that *all* of the other major development environments (with the exception of you-know-who in Redmond) allow *free* downloads for evaluation, I am sorely disappointed.

There's no way we're gonna get WebObjects in the door this way. I called Apple directly and they x'fered me to Customer Relations. That's when I got the bad news. Did I go about this the wrong way?

Thanks

I was at a WO seminar in NYC last monday and a customer had the same issue. All I know is that some marketing person named Beth from iServices was going to try to get them a eval copy.

You can try calling iServices @ (800) 848-6398

Good luck, and make usre to fire and email to webobjects@group.apple.com demanding a windows wo eval copy.

Look for a trial version of Web Objects 5 for Mac OS X on the developer CD disk. If it is not on that cd, you find it on the image at ADC. Membership is free at connect.apple.com. However the trial expires on 9/30 and it is only for OS X.

So you could play with it but your Win 2000 company can not...
