On Win with Internet Explorer (4.5+) you can set a DIV or a SPAN to "contenteditable" and edit HTML in WYSIWYG mode directly on the web page. This, I believe, is possible beacuse of some built in ActiveX object in Win.

Anyone missing such a feature? I see my clients hate changing to another app or even window to produce web text with bolds and italics.
