Philzilla just lead me to an example of using INCLUDE to pull text from an external text file using SSI and it worked perfectly....he mentioned that it can also be done easily w/ Flash.

I'm wondering where the code would go in a Flash movie though..I just can't visualize it. With HTML you just stick the code right in where you want it..so with Flash does it go in as an action in a frame or do you actually write it into the dynamic text box where the text will go..

Any way..if you can help me out....Thanks

though I'm not philzilla...

Yes, put your include or get variables actionscript into a script attached to the frame, remember to name your text box and to set your font/style attributes first.

nick

eg:

attached to frame: (this is one way, there are other paths to follow, YMMV)

<BLOCKQUOTE><HR><pre><font size=2 face=courier>loadVariablesNum("text.txt", 0); </pre><HR></blockquote></font>

and this goes in the external text file
<BLOCKQUOTE><HR><pre><font size=2 face=courier> &exttext=this is the text that goes in the text box& </font></pre><HR></blockquote>
