thanks for reading this - before I start I have to say that I have never eally used Flash, I am an art director and photographer by trade, not a coder.

However I have to get my portfolio modernised and being a bit of a geek I'd decided to learn more and do it myself.

Here's the old version: http://www.duess.com You can see it's way out of date, I did it a couple of years back.

And here's the front page of the new one:
http://www.duess.com/new_site/indexnew.html

What I would like to do is the following:

Where the three sections are, print, video and photography, I'd like these pictures to scroll using Flash. I've seen it before, it looks fantastic and it also means I need just another level of pop up windows to show my work.
http://www.yr.ca have done something similar to what I am trying to achieve.

I need the pics to be clickable so the user can select an image and see it larger in a pop up frame.

This is probably insanely easy for all of you, please forgive my ignorance. All help and pointers gratefully received.

Thanks.

so you can wear that satisfied/smug "i did it myself! ha!" grin, may i suggest you go here and download some source files to disect. you'll find the thing you're after in the navigation section, i would imagine. there's tutorials too.

may i also recommend you buy a book from these people, as their books are real good. yeah, even the one with my name in

Uuh... It's actuall not THAT easy to do the scroll thing. Especially when it needs to be continuos etc. I've done some stuff here (you can see it when you click "Vaata mudeleid" since it's only in Estonian), but I'd really need the source file etc. to help you out. I think flashkit.com with it's tutorials might really be easier way to solve this problem.

That is exactly what I would like to do. It's difficult do you say?

I need to get about 12 pictures animated, when you click on each picture another frame opens showing an ad or a movie.

Well basically what you have to do is to make a movie object inside flash file that scrolls from left to right or any other way you want. And then insert this movie object into your canvas and give the arrows or buttons a command to scroll that movie from one positinon to another. All the scrolling should be already ready-made within the movie, the buttons just trigger it.

It's not something TOTALLY impossible, but it's quite a pain to help you out just like over the forums
If you could find help from flashkit.com it would really be much more useful to you, I think.

Are you asking how to launch pop-up windows of a particular size?

If so...head over to the Dreamweaver Exchange and do a search for the easy pop-ups extention. They're...ez.
