Hi,
I will soon be working on a few web sites, having not really touched one for two years. I had used GoLive 5 (it had just come out) and Fireworks 1.0. I'm using OSX now, and need to upgrade my software since I refuse to boot into OS9 anymore. I'm looking for advice in which applications to purchase. I need to do realatively simple pages, CSS, interactive nav bars, some database, forms, a secure (password protected) section. I don't want to use Flash files since I think they're a pain in the butt and the sites are for a library district and a local government, not computer geeks :-)
While I've been using GoLive since it was CyberStudio 1.0, I don't mind switching to Macromedia, or mixing of matching. How does GoLive 6 compare to Dreamweaver MX (so far, I know it's not quite out yet) Does Adobe have a product competing with Fireworks? Should I get GoLive 6 with LiveMotion 2 now and wait until Dreamweaver Studio MX is released? I get the education prices, so the cost isn't that much of an object, and I don't mind getting both.
Also, I need some suggestion for good tutorials on all this. As I said, it's been a while and I'd like to use CSS instead of frames (I got quite good at making those darn things work

and how to do databases and such. I normally just muck around in the programs and figure it out myself, but that's quite time consuming and it seems it's getting too complicated to do that anymore.
Anyway, sorry for the length and I appreciate any input anyone might have.
Cheers,
Cody Sibell
