I'm sick of using DreamWeaver's FTP access, even though it's one of the most handiest things I use when building a website. Synchronizing and putting files works well, especially since it's built into the same program I'm using to manage the site itself...

but the program freezes for so long every time it connects, disconnects, or even tries to upload a file! This should not happen!

This has been a problem that's plagued since DW3 (and maybe before, never used it then), and it's still present in DWMX. Why can't they simply make it threaded so you can actually keep editing files while uploading them, or connecting to an FTP thing? Why hook the FTP client in with the rest of the program's main loop? Ugh...

How can I express my disbelief to Macromedia that this is still a problem? I looked all over their website, couldn't find a real user feedback form regarding their products... they really need to hear about this, it's such a basic want/need it should've been addressed at DreamWeaver 1.2...

Hmm, I've been amazed at how fast and stable the ftp browser in the just released commercial release (not the preview) of DWMX is.

Cheers,

Tobes.

5 words:

GET A REAL FTP BROWSER

Use any of these and you'll be a LOT happier.

<a href="http://www.panic.com" target="_blank">
Transmit</a>

<a href="http://www.rbrowser.com/" target="_blank">RBrowser</a>

Or just use the terminal.

I do use Transmit and/or VicomFTP - however, to have it all integrated into the same program would be crazy handy, especially when I'm paying a decent amount of cash for it.
