I've never used Layers on webpage before, so I figured I'd learn how. Tried to lay out a grid, but whenever I place something on the grid, then try to save the file, GoLive crashes with "Type 2." Can't be out of memory, GoLive has 150MB allocated to it. System specs are Ti 500 with 640 MB RAM. Does anyone have any suggestions at all why it keeps crashing on me? I'd love to use layers, but I can't even learn! Thanks all.

Oops, double post... anyway, I played around with it more, and if i enter a text box with some text, i can save, but it seems like if i place more than one or two images, then down she goes... argh, soooo frustration, especially since it takes a bit to reload the program each time.

First off, I must say that my experience with layers on a website is that if you're in IE on a PC it looks one way, swap to Netscape... looks different, swap to IE on a Mac... looks COMPLETLY different, swap to Netscape and all hell breaks loose.

IMHO Layers aren't well supported in browsers so what your site looks like on your computer is probably the only time it's going to look good.

One thing I DO know is that from my own tests, pages with layers created in Dreamweaver tend to be more consistant and layers don't freeze Dreamweaver.

Gracias, I'm taking that all into consideration... for now I have a temp fix in GoLive, but I might end up just not using them at all... have to wait and see. Thanks again.
