Does anybody know anything about Apple's policy on SMIL? This W3C recommended standard for synchronised multimedia is beginning to catch on in the PC world with support in the Real One player and Internet Explorer 6.

QuickTime 5 only supports the ageing SMIL 1.0 spec and I've heard no news regarding SMIL 2.0 support in QuickTime 6.

RealOne Player is not yet available for the Mac. And Internet Explorer 5, well, it's way behind the PC version.
