I have been looking around the web at companies like IBM and SUN, and their developer community web-sites in particular Java info. This has brought to my attention that the Apple Developer Connection, comes up rather short compared to what it possible could be.
I say this because the ADC could become the core home for Apple Developers. However it currently is just a skeleton, having only the most basic of documentation, and services.
Where are the hundred of in depth articles on developing x-y-z for the Macintosh (IBM - have a look at IBM it is amazing what they give away) IBM has over 100+ up to date J2EE articles alone, Yet Apple has one pdf on Cocoa Java (me shrugging, Why ??). Were are the online course (Sun education services, good source of money for Apple), Teaching how to use x-y-z to CS students and system admin's all around the world online in real time.
Were is Apple in making contacts with Universities, like all the other big IT companies do. Would you not like a senior member of the Apple developer team giving a talk at your college, I ask you?
The question is does Apple have any future plans for the ADC or will it remain in its basic state for ever. All this is even more important because for the first time in over a decade the Mac is attracting developers, Developers who will be used to level of support and services that Apples ADC is currently not suppling.
