I do not know much about programming or developing, but I am an artist and I would like to be able to make my own icons (or even themes). Is there a way to get the Icon Builder that I heard is included with the developers tools without installing the rest of the tools?

I don't think there is. You could try Iconographer.

You could always use Pacifist to extract it.

just ask someone to e-mail it to you

You posted about it, though, which took considerably longer.

...heh, heh, heh, heh...

I hate to be a pest, but does anyone know where I can find some documentation on how to use this thing? Apparently dropping a jpeg into the three windows and saving the file will not work as it looks like it should. Thankx.

and Gul Banana, it upsets me that I have spent more than 5 seconds just thinking about the signature, which makes it all the worse.

If you want icons with transparency then you need to save the images as something like .PNG or .TIF. Just save an image 128 x 128, 48 x 48, 32 x 32 and 16 x 16, drag them in and save it.

Once you've saved it, it will be a generic .icns file type icon on it. Then you use either pic2icon or icns2icon to make it as it should be.
