I really need help in this regard. I posted a topic about how to make my site appear in the search engines a while ago, and received some suggestions about adding a 'robots.txt' file to the root level of the site, and using meta tags.
The problem is that i've done all that and still can't manage to appear in any engine.
I am willing to pay in order to show up in most popular engines, so if anyone know where can i do that payed multiple subscription please let me know.
...Btw, how can i submitt my site to Google and the other major engines?? i don't seem to find a 'Submit website' link.
Thanks in advance.

Hi there
You can submit your site to google via
http://www.google.com/addurl.html
Unfortunately, getting a high ranking in automated search engines takes time and work... your homepage needs to be optimised and have a few 'features' in, for example HTML comments with a few keywords and descriptions. Would you like me to take a look, or post some examples?
Anyway in the mean time, definitely pay for a yahoo link, that will pull in some traffic, dmoz.org is important, but i don't think you have to pay, just wait and hope your site passes the test.
http://dmoz.org/add.html
When your site gets into dmoz, they share their database with google, hotbot, lycos and a few others... so it's a good idea to try and get listed here.
Also there is a new search engine called Teoma that is gaining reputation. You have to pay $30 but it will be worth it. They share their database with askjeeves.

... that's what you need to throw at the search engines if you want your site to come up high.
