Is there any way you can bring back the old code formatter? Or at least disable the smilie parsing while it's running through a code block?
This isn't easily read anymore..
Code:
- (id)tableView:(NSTableView *)aTableView objectValueForTableColumn:(NSTableColumn *)aTableColumn row:(int)rowIndex
{
// 3 sad faces. How..uh..sad.
return nil;
}

Click "Disable Smilies in This Post" when you post. :D :( :). Voilą, no smilies. It would nice if smilies were ignored in a code block, however.

Duh! I knew the checkbox was there. Seriously.
The code formatter used to rock though. I can't remember who made it but before the board switch-over, it colored the code (int, float, etc.), indented nicely (I think) and I'm pretty sure smilies were disabled in just the code block.
Sometimes posts come-off better when you can give a wink or whatever. And, if you also happen to be posting code you want to leave smilies on so the wink doesn't look like crap but then the code is all messed up...
Anyway, I think what I'm saying is that I miss the old boards. It seems like they spent a long time working on the code formatter for the old board and now with the switch-over, it's gone?!

Heh, I coded that out of boredom. I'm fairly proficient with PHP (the other was done in Perl) so I can do that again if you'd like... and this time I'll get off my lazy ass and code a reverse-coder for quoting purposes.

I thought it was you that wrote it. I didn't want to give credit to someone and then be wrong though.
Not to throw more at you than you need but while I'm wishing...
What would be really cool is if we could have our own "styles" for code. A "standard" list of tags/keywords with a way to set color/style and it'd be golden. A way to add our own (dozen or so) tags/keywords would push it over the top.
Anyway, the old formatter ruled. If you have free time and/or get bored, a new one would be most welcome! With or without "styles".

Yeah, sucks that it uses PHP coloring though.
