I can't figure this out. I have been trying to install the developer tools for 10.2 and nothing gets installed. I don't have many of the unix tools that I am supposed to have after the install (cvs, gnutar, and others). When I try to re-install it has all 0K next to each package in the installer program.
It obviously thinks that developer is already installed correctly. It installed fine on the iMac. Can I erase some configuration file and then try to re-install.
Thanks for any help.

Real silly question, but how do you know that you do not have the toos you are supposed to?
Have you looked in your /usr/bin/ for gnutar using the terminal? ...yet another silly question, perhaps.
I installed 10.2 and the developer tools with no problems. Yet, what did happen was 10.2 wiped out my auto completion, so I could no longer hit my tab key and have it fill in the names of fills/application for me. BTW this problem can be correct thought by adding set autolist to your /etc/csh.login file.

If you have a /Developer directory, then your Tools were installed.

I guess I would have to agree with that. Though I would say that just because one has a /Developer directory does not necessarly mean that no has a /usr/bin/gnutar...thought they should have by all rights.

I do have a /Developer directory, but I don't have gnutar, cvs and others in my /usr/bin directory. When I compare the powerbook with the iMac (that installed ok), there are many more items in the iMac. gnutar, cvs are in the iMac.

Interestingly enough, I didn't get CVS or gnutar either; fortunately it was the work of a moment to reinstall them with fink.
Code:
sudo apt-get install cvs
sudo apt-get install gnutar
Of course, you need Fink first...
