i'm trying to set up an online journal(not a diary, or personal journal, but a journal that publishes articles on the web). it would have to be able to index and bring up past articles and editions, which makes me think that these blog programs may be the answer.

i just ran across pmachine.com and it looks workable. does anyone have experience or seen a CMS that is already up and running. a newspaper or magazine site using a CMS would also work, if anyone knows of one.

What platform? How much money? How big is the project?

You can look into Vignette Story Server or Microsoft Content Management Server (formerly Encompass Resolution).

There are many others but only a few that are enterprise level.
