I have WebStar 5.1 and I 'm thinking of ordering 10.2 Server. I 'm wondering which is the better webserver software. Is 4D's WebStar better? Or is Apple's 10.2 Server better?

Personally I would go with strait up Darwin with Apache (free, and for a website, that's all you really need... 10.2 has no real advantages for a webserver)... but between the two, 10.2 server hands down.

Not like WebStar is a bad product, but it's proprietary. Why go down that road? Unless you need something it offers. I just don't see why you would want to spend the money.
I always use protection when fscking my Mac... Do you?

The big advantage to WebStar is that it is easier to manage. No messing with various text files that only a Unix guru could love. While Apache is great for small web pages using Apple's controls, or larger projects when you know Apache, there is a middle ground that WebStar is better at.
